We are committed to deepening the real understanding of Diversity and Inclusion, and the business case for it, throughout our Association at the local, Chapter, Section and National levels. In 2016, 132 PGA of America employees attended “Navigating Differences” presented by CSW Associates, Inc., a leading consultant on Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace. These trainings focused on fundamentals, such as cross-cultural awareness.
Following the training, 97.9 percent of participants said that the session influenced a positive change in how they will communicate and work more effectively with team members. Follow-up sessions were delivered in 2017 and will continue in 2018 with a focus on generational diversity and unconscious bias. Two other courses, “The Fundamentals of Diversity & Inclusion” and “The Language of Inclusion” were conducted at PGA Member and industry forums. The PGA of America also uses a series of technology-enabled learning tools to further these messages. One is a micro-learning platform to deliver 2-3 minute learning moments to PGA Members through their mobile devices. A suite of online courses on Diversity and Inclusion topics, provided through Skillsoft, was also deployed in 2017. In addition, the PGA Board of Directors commenced a three-part series of workshops entitled “Leading in a Diverse & Inclusive Culture.”
